8/03/2009Keimoi’s success at the 2008 Royal Canberra Show

- Keimoi Just Genes, Champion Bull and Champion of the Lowline Breed 2008, Royal Canberra Show

- Keimoi Poppie, Junior Champion Heifer 2008, Royal Canberra Show
Apart from our success in the show ring we’ve had quite an exciting time at KEIMOI over the last few months with the birth of a number of top quality calves. We’ve joined some of the top sires in the breed with our quality Lowline cow herd. The sires used include:
· Keimoi Just Genes, Champion of the Breed 2008, Royal Canberra Show;
· Kobblevale Wilberforce, Senior Champion Bull 2007, Sydney Royal Easter Show, and Senior Champion Bull & Grand Champion Bull 2007, Royal Brisbane Show;
· Trangie K208, Equal Top Price Bull, Final Trangie Dispersal Sale 1992;
· Trangie K085, half brother to K208;
· Elandra Park Absolute, Res Junior Champion 2007, Sydney Royal Easter Show;
· Black Arrow Vegemite Kid, Dam was Diamond Princess; and
· Keimoi Braveheart, sired by Columbo Park Tannhauser.
To further expand our genetic base, over the past 18 months we have also added to our cow herd by purchasing a number of lovely females from Burnt Creek Lowlines at Howlong. Included in the purchase were three Brambletye cows, including Brambletye Numida 2nd , who was the Junior Champion Female 2000, at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. She now has a very nice AI calf at foot sired by Trangie K085. We believe we will have a very nice junior team to show at the 2010 Sydney Royal Feature Show.
We are currently assessing our young stock to assemble a show team for the 2009 season. Included in the team will be Keimoi Kinsman a very nice bull, a full brother to Keimoi Crackerjack, Champion of the Breed 2005, Royal Canberra Show.
If you you are thinking of purchasing some Australian Lowlines or if you would like to have a look at our herd please give us a call. We would be more than happy to show you around.
